What is JSP Occupational Therapy?

JSP Case Management and Occupational Therapy services was launched in 1994.

It’s a specialist Occupational Therapy (OT) service for brain, spinal and orthopaedic injuries as well as any other complex disability rehabilitation. We primarily work in the community but can also work within residential and hospital settings as required.

Our team facilitates independence and participation, either through therapeutic interventions or specialist equipment and housing adaptations.

What is your specialism?

Our OTs have a broad range of specialities including:

Rehabilitation – working with the individual and their support network to devise a rehabilitation programme, identify clear rehabilitation goals and following a client centred approach.

Equipment and Adaptations – specialist assessments to assess individual needs and assist in identifying the client’s current environment, function and needs to recommend appropriate and specialist equipment. Identifying the right equipment can make a real difference to a client’s motivation, involvement with activities of daily living and facilitate rehabilitation programmes.

Moving and handling – we provide a bespoke moving and handling training service, developed in line with the client and family’s goals and support worker needs. This includes comprehensive risk assessment of the current environment and equipment used, to ensure that manual handling tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

JSP OTs work closely within JSP Case Management and have the same quality standards, compliance and records. They understand the role of Case Management and their input and contribution that they need to provide from instruction of a case to discharge. All clients within JSP work towards CQC regulations, which ensures that there is a high level quality within all documentation, including note writing, report writing and day to day communication correspondence.

In addition to regular clinical supervision and peer support, our JSP OTs also have access to senior management for additional support as required. They fully understand the medicolegal process and follow the same quality and critical reviews as JSP Case Managers.
