Over the summer, we hosted an away day for the JSP team, and what an amazing few days it was. Not only was it a chance to get the team together for some updates, training and quality time well spent, but it was also a chance for us to celebrate 30 years of JSP Case Management. Calvert Reconnections hosted the event with amazing food, hospitality and activities.
The day started with Active Care Group Case Management Division’s Managing Director Janette Wynn giving an update on all the progress with Active Care Group. She then provided some helpful hints and tips on time management – more tools to add to our toolbox!
Colin Mitchell, Head of Health and Safety at Active Care Group, spoke to the team about wellbeing and how to be proactive when it comes to recognising and taking steps to avoid burnout.
Members of our Occupational Therapy team Helen Graham, Deb Gardner and Eva Heaton gave an update on the developments within the OT service, with exciting plans moving forward.
After a productive morning filled with updates, the team had a choice of activities in the afternoon – from high ropes, zip wire and rock climbing to archery and bushcraft!
Andrew Patterson, Business Director, invited special guests to speak at the event, managing to keep it a secret from the whole team right up until they came out to speak. JSP Case Management founders, Jackie and Ivan Parker, were welcomed back to talk about the creation of JSP and the incredible journey of the business. It was good to hear that the values they had when developing the business are continuing today.
Jackie said, “We both want to say a big thank you for including us in the 30th anniversary party for JSP. It was great to see old faces and meet new staff. And to hear everyone speaking so positively about working at JSP.
We had been nervous but as soon as we arrived it all felt fine, and we were able just to talk with the staff group as we always had done.
We are delighted that JSP continues much in the way we had hoped. And we feel proud that future generations of case managers and OTs are continuing to provide a specialist service to some of the most injured people and their families. Long may it continue.“
We finished the evening with recognition awards to show appreciation for each one of the JSP team. We also awarded the employee of the quarter, which went to Business Financial Controller, Nicole Green.
Throughout the evening the celebrations continued – we enjoyed karaoke and an opportunity toast JSP Case Management’s 30th anniversary!
